When you are in the Baja as much as Neal Technologies, you know that having great communications means having a great antenna. Mounting that antenna has always been a choice between a temporary magnetic base mount or the dreaded drilling a large hole in the top of your truck. We knew that there had to be a better way and not only did we find it, we patented it too!
The Third Brake Light Antenna Mount is simple to install and can be done with a minimal amount of tools. Of course we provide installation instructions (see link above) to make installation as easy as possible.

EASY AND FLAWLESS INSTALL
I have no complaints, this mount works well and is a high quality item. A couple of tips when installing is to first make sure you have the coax exiting the correct side of the mount and routed through the center hole on the truck so you don't have to redo it a couple times. I used this for a ghost GMRS antenna and it performs well. I would suggest that BulletProofDiesel make the coax about three feet longer. Having a Crew Cab the coax was barely long enough to reach the radio and not long enough to hide it properly.
I also purchased the block off plate so I could remove the third brake light since I have a Leer shell. The plate is from Ford but it doesn't fit well and I was concerned it would leak. If you want to use this plate, the provided screws were too long. Good new is there was enough clearance to re-use the third brake light with about an inch to spare.
Great and excellent product
I am a Ham Operator and I recently bought a 2015 Ford F150. In case you are unaware, the F150s went to all aluminum bodies that year. That meant I could not use magnetic antenna mounts any longer.
After some research I learned that Bullet Proof Diesel made an NMO antenna mounts that go around the third brake light!
I was apprehensive about the mount and how I would attach it to my truck. All my worries were alleviated when I read the previous reviews.
Attaching the mount took me about 45 minutes, but I think that was fast, for me.
Installed this on my 2021 F-150 Crew Cab. I had exactly enough cable to get the amp installed in the driver footwell / dash area. I went from a fender mount to this for better coverage. It does just that. I didn't want to run the OTR antenna they just don't look good. This was exactly the ticket. Installed easy. Maybe 30 minutes maximum. Tip: use push poles or metal coat hanger to feed cable across back of headliner.
