We often get the question - What's in a level 2 or Level 3 Bullet Proof Diesel service?

A level 2 service includes replacement/upgrading from the OEM Oil Cooler to the BulletProof Oil Cooler Sytem and the BulletProof EGR Cooler, along with some optional, secondary upgrades. A level 3 service includes the level 2, plus head gaskets, ARP head studs and - in our shop only when we do the repair - improved cylinder heads with injector bore sleeves, hardened valve seats, etc.

The BulletProof Engine Oil Cooler and EGR Cooler are a MUST for a reliable 6.0L. The EGR Cooler is a well known failure item - and the Engine Oil Cooler is like an insurance policy - one that protects your engine, bearings, turbo, injectors, etc - everything that comes in contact with your engine oil depends on that oil cooler for reliability

Services in the Bullet Proof Diesel shop

If you have the service done in our shop - and we are happy to do so - here is what you need to know. The Level 2 includes the Bullet Proof Engine Oil Cooler along with the Bullet Proof EGR Cooler. It also includes lots of upgrades as seen in our Professional Install Package. Furthermore, we take our time to clean the intake manifold, the turbo and all the other relevant components. Lastly, the Level 2 also includes all the fluids, taxes, labor, parts, and filters. It normally takes about 3-4 days to complete.

Level 3 is the same as Level 2, but we also; upgrade the valve seats, upgrade the head bolts to ARP head studs, and upgrade the cylinder heads with numerous improvements ( see magazine article for more detail http://www.bulletproofdiesel.tv/Files/Magazine/FWRP-100900-STROKE.pdf ). This entire process takes about 5-7 days.

The Level 2 and Level 3 are very thorough and complete repairs. We take our time to make sure that we have addressed all issues, comprehensive. That being said, the Level 2 is typically about $8,000 and the Level 3 is typically about $15,000. There can be some variances depending on a number of factors and requests.
