Description

A mechanical fan clutch for the Ford 7.3L diesel. Fits the 1997 F-Series.

This fan clutch can be used in conjunction with the Bullet Proof Diesel Fan Clutch Adapter. It will enable you to use your existing 6.0L fan blade assembly along with this mechanical fan clutch (and the BPD adapter) to change your electric 6.0L fan clutch to a mechanical version.

Typical aftermarket Chinese part

Well, I'm glad that I didn't claim 'victory' too early after installing this fan clutch as an upgrade on my '07 Ram 5.9L Cummins. I purchased the adapter to convert the factory electric fan clutch over to this 'old school' mechanical fan clutch, and it work so well right up to the 1-year warranty when it failed and my truck overheated with no load on it! I believe the mechanical fan clutch is the ultimate solution to the Cummins overheating issues; however, the 'fix' is only as good as the reliability of the part installed. I'll be replacing this Chinese made JUNK part with a MOTORCRAFT fan clutch, which should last well past its warranty. I should've known better from past experiences with Chinese JUNK parts! As a side note, I purchased this BPD part through the RiffRaff Diesel website, as the price was better.

Not impressed

Any thing above 65 degrees outside and this clutch stays on constant. Tried two, both with the same results. May as well put the fan on solid. This mod is a joke.

this fan clutch is great you can hear the difference once you drive it no check engine light after installation. that was awesome , recommend this to any 6.0 lovers
